Delicious Homemade Taco Recipe!

I absolutely love tacos. They are so easy to make and are a great, healthy meal for photo 3dinner if you choose the right ingredients. I was really craving tacos but I didn’t want to immediately go by one of those ‘Ortega Taco Kits’ (as much as I love them!!). Instead, I decided to make my own tacos with a lot of the ingredients I already had in the kitchen. Actually, the only ingredients I had to buy to make the tacos were turkey ground and whole-wheat tortilla wraps! Here’s the recipe…
  • 2 packs of ground turkey
  • Whole-wheat tortilla wraps
  • Romaine lettuce (chopped)
  • Tomato (diced)photo 1
  • Onion (diced)
  • Cheese (shredded)
  • Salsa
  • Avocado
  • Cumin
  • Garlic powder
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Crushed red peppers
  • Ground sea salt

Preheat and oil a large skillet pan. Once hot, add the 2 packets of turkey ground (1 just did not look like enough, but you decide!). Allow the ground to cook thoroughly until its overall brown. Then add your spices. I added a few shakes of cumin, cayenne pepper, crushed red peppers, garlic powder, ground sea salt, and ground black pepper. Stir the ground and allow it to finish cooking.

Chop up the romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and onionand put into separate bowls. Shred the cheese (I chose to use cheddar…only kind I had!) and place in a bowl.

To make a really quick guacamole, mash up 1 avocado in a bowl. Add a few of the diced tomatoes and onions and mix well. For some flavor in the guacamole, I added a few shakes of cayenne pepper and garlic powder.

For the salsa, I used “Tostitos Chunky Salsa (Medium)”. Pour in a bowl andset to the side.

Then comes the best part: putting all of the ingredients together in the whole-wheat tortilla! Bon Appetit!
