I won’t lie, I’m a sucker for hair products and when I get the opportunity, I try the latest and greatest one to emerge. Even better for me, more and more products designed for curly hair are are popping up in stores and all over the Internet. With that, I will be reviewing Shea Moisture’s Curl Coconut & Hibiscus: Shampoo, Conditioner, and styler.
Shea Moisture is a company that produces organic hair, body, and bath products. For hair, they offer a range of products for deep moisture, anti-dandruff, curly hair, hair retention/growth.
Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Shampoo
Overall, I was pleased with this shampoo. It smells great, a pleasant (but not overly strong) aroma of coconuts. It takes a little bit of effort to lather and spread evenly throughout my hair. Overall through I I think it’s a great shampoo and I love the ingredients!
Ingredients: Deionized Water, Decyl Glucoside (Sugar Beets), Coconut) Oil*, Shea Butter*, Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Vitamin E, Neem Seed Oil , Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate (Coconut Oil), Vitamin B‐5, Rosemary Extract, Silk Protein, Honeysuckle Flower, Japanese Honeysuckle Flower Extract. *Denotes Certified Organic Ingredient.
The conditioner also has great ingredients that are natural and organic. It has a smooth and creamy consistency but it’s not very thick with that light coconut aroma as well. My only gripe is that there could be more slip to it. I has to use a lot in order to detangle my hair. Afterwards though my hair felt nicely soft and smelled great!

I tried! I tried really, really hard to like this one! I swear! I really did want to love this one, especially since I’m always on the look out for a new styler. But unfortunately this styler fell flat. Okay, the consistency is a weird giggly, slightly sticky jelly that is a yellow/brown color hue. After washing and conditioning my hair, I separated it into 8 sections (like I normally do) and added a dime-sized amount. It took hours upon hours to dry and at the end my hair was flat and had this weird sticky coating feel to it. I tried using this product in many ways. I tried more conditioner then less conditioner; I used more product then less product…but no matter what I couldn’t achieve nice soft and defined shiny curls like I have with other products. Sorry, this Soufflé was a no go.
Ingredients: Deionized Water, Shea Butter, Coconut oil, Macadamia Seed Oil, Avocado oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Silk Protein, Ammonium Salt, Neem Seed Oil, Daucus Carota Sativa Seed Oil (Carrot), Sorbitol Esters, Vitamin B-5, Caprylyl Glycol, Essential Oil Blend, Lonicera Caprifolium Flower and Lonicera Japonica Flower Extract (Honeysuckle and Japanese Honeysuckle), Vitamin E. *Denotes Certified Organic Ingredient.
I like this product line, even though not all the products were a hit I still think it’s worth a try because of the ingredients and great smells.
Peace, Love, & Coconuts.
